BIOMasha Vintskevich was born in Russia. She graduated the Fine Art and Graphic Design (Master degree). For many years she worked as a graphic designer in various music-related projects. For 26 years, she have been the chief designer at one of the country's oldest jazz international festival “Jazz Province”. This festival was mobile - it lasted about 1.5 months and covered from 12 to 18 cities of the center of Russia every year. Famous jazz musicians from all over the world and world jazz stars gathered for this holiday. In 2022, the festival ceased to exist.
In 2014, Masha plunged headlong into the world of ceramics:
“Ceramics unexpectedly opened up a new way for me to know the world and myself in it, changed my usual system of thinking and vision, and gave me a previously unknown path of co-Creation. It became for me a silent, frank conversation, a continuous internal dialogue: with the material, with myself, with the world around me. Ceramics provided an opportunity to explore your individual inner landscape. This is an attempt to reflect my own journey through life, its strength and fragility. An attempt to embody non-material concepts: our unconscious, our feelings and premonitions, the thought process, time. This is an attempt to bring to life those deep personal experiences and ancestral memory (that lives in each of us).
At the moment, my main occupation is ceramics. Clay is a material that is sacredly close to human nature. Reflecting on reality and my path, searching for and receiving answers, I try to mold my reality in the truest sense of the word”.
Since 2022, the artist Masha Vintskevich has been based in New York.
