JAPANESE HANDWRITING

The composition was born in anticipation of it being wood-fired, in a unique furnace in Noborigama, Japan.

This wood-firing process is an ancient technique, which takes roots in distinctive pottery firing methods of China and Japan.

These objects are a gesture of love and respect to archaic Japanese ceramics from Jōmon period, to Sue and Shigaraki pottery, Japanese ornaments, and to Wabi Sabi itself, as a very important way of aesthetic ideology.

Main themes are: existence in inner harmony with the imperfections of the outside world, seeing beauty in flaws and asymmetry of objects, artlessness, roughness, carelessness, cracks and attritions.
